About Me

Hello!

Hi, I am SungMin Kim where I also go by the name of Alvin. I was born in Seoul South Korea and raised in Vancouver, British Columbia of Canada. Valuing experience in every aspect, studies of human behavior around the technology is key and my passion behind learning Human-Computer Interaction. It’s my joy learning and discovering how people think and behave in their everyday lives. From that, upon my encounters, I leverage research to design user-centered products and services which solves both user and business problems as a whole. Ultimately, I want to create meaningful experiences through design that could bring a unique experience for the users as like 1+1 = 3.

UI/UX Design

User Experience Design is the future of the design discipline. UX is a powerful complement to backgrounds in visual design, marketing, product, engineering, business strategy, and many more. UX sparks my ambition towards design in reasons why I pursue UXD.

Branding & Identity

I create branding that builds trust. Building a brand helps determine how its first few customers identify the quality of its services. As users get to know one’s business better, they will start trusting it more. However, in order to develop that puzzling trust factor, one must shout out loud as to why they should try it out.

UX Research

I believe User Experience Research is essential to product/service successes. Thus, to be a compelling designer, one must be able to look deeper into how people think and behave upon their actions.
